Frequency in flesh

From an early age, it was clear that music was Afrobaess’s purpose. Even before she could fully articulate it, she was captivated by rhythm, sound, and storytelling. Whether performing in school talent shows, singing in choir, or navigating the halls of her performing arts school, she wasn’t just chasing a dream. She was answering a deep, undeniable calling.

Immediately after high school, Afrobaess began writing and recording, choosing to invest in herself with unwavering faith. She didn’t wait for permission. She created. She studied. She worked. Through discipline, bold creativity, and integrity, she laid a foundation as a multifaceted artist: songwriter, vocalist, and storyteller. Today, her genre-spanning catalog reflects her evolution, vision, and voice.

Her path has included notable collaborations and international creative leadership. Afrobaess held her own personal songwriting camp at the studio of Grammy Award-winning executive producer Mally Mall, where she refined her craft in a high-level creative environment. She also hosted a full album camp in Jamaica alongside Billboard-charting producer Ajusdivybz Music, bringing together artists from around the world to collaborate and innovate.

A pivotal moment in her journey came at 19, when Afrobaess wrote and recorded a peace anthem titled “Amiro Kuch Inkono,” meaning “I want peace, do you?” The song features the voice of her maternal grandmother, who stepped into the studio and delivered a one-take freestyle that made history. The record carries generational weight. Her grandparents fled war in Uganda, and her parents arrived in the U.S. as refugees. Afrobaess now stands on their sacrifices, using her voice to build legacy, foster healing, and spark change.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Afrobaess is a proud member of Creative Spaces Music Group, where she is surrounded by a community of visionary artists. As she prepares to release new music, she does so with a renewed sense of purpose. Her art is no longer driven solely by the desire to be heard. It is driven by the mission to empower, impact, and connect.

Beyond music, Afrobaess serves on the Executive Team for Sharing Hope Medical Mission USA, a nonprofit that provides lifesaving surgical interventions and education to underserved communities in Nigeria and beyond. For her, service and music are intertwined—both are vehicles for transformation.

Her journey is firmly rooted in faith. There was a time when she created good music yet felt empty, misaligned with her true calling. But once she stepped fully into her purpose, everything changed. Her voice gained power, and her path became clear.

At the heart of Afrobaess’s work is a deep desire to move people. To make them feel, reflect, and remember. That, to her, is the essence of true artistry. Echoing the words of Maya Angelou, who once said, “Words are things... they get in your clothes, in your upholstery... and finally into you,” Afrobaess intends to use every word, every note, and every breath to leave something that lasts.
